Drugstore Mini Haul

Hey guys:
While I stopped by Shoppers Drug Mart and refilled my prescription. I thought I could use up my coupon for the Maybelline New York products (Most of them are on SALE!). Here is what I got :D

Color Whisper in 60 Petal Rebel
Rocket by Volum'Express Mascara in 400 Blackest Black

Here is a closer look of the product:

I saw YouTube guru missglamorazzi - Ingrid bought these during her drugstore haul. She said it is very similar to the consistency of the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter. I was totally thrilled to find it in the store this past weekend at the Shoppers Drug Mart. I got the color Petal Rebel.

Thanks to Ingrid again, I really wanted to try this. It's an interesting concept. As soon as I dipped the wand inside of the tube. It looks weird. hmm.... But I will update you guys on the swatch of the lipstick and how does the mascara looks on my eyelashes.

Hey guys:
I have been super busy with school right now, so I haven't really had time to do any blogging. But I will keep it up next week? =) But here is a sneak peek of what is coming up next week. I will try to mix my reviews of both drugstore brands and high-end brands that you can either find at Sephora or Holt Renfrew.

 Urban Decay Basics Palette
 Shu Uemura Tokyo Lights Palette
Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in 001
Maybelline Color Whisper in 10 Bare to be Bold
Revlon Nearly Naked compact powder in 001 light

Hope you all had a great week, and I will talk to you guys next week.

Dior Ultra-Gloss in 257 Trench

Hey guys:
This is my second post of the day. :)
I am going to review the Dior Ultra-Gloss in 257 Trench as it said in the title.
Here is a swatch of the color.
the one on the bottom :)
Here is how it looks on my lips with nothing underneath it =P
not the best picture, but you can see how glossy it is.
It is super pretty and I love how moisturize it is.

Diorskin Nude BB Creme in 002 Light

Okay, here is my first review of the week, the new Diorskin Nude BB Creme for their Spring 2013 Cherie Bow collection. To tell you the truth, this is actually my first high-end BB creme I have ever tried (except the Maybelline Fresh BB Cream)? This nicely packaged BB Creme is listed at $44 CAD which is cheaper than the listed price on the Sephora website (I was thrilled). I think it was released very recently, maybe just the past week? To my knowledge, I know this product is carried in Sephora stores. I know that some Shoppers Drug Marts have the rest of the collection (The cherie bow palette, and the the duo end eyeshadows, nail polishes and the lipsticks that are released in this collection). Correct me if I am wrong

I have been using it twice this week, and I have to say I am very impressed with the pigmentation of this BB cream, it definitely covers some of my hyperpigmentation. I have never used an Asian BB cream before, so this might be the best so far compared to the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream. This is less watery than the Maybelline. But much more liquidy than my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. I think it has a very similar consistency compare to the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat. (CORRECTION: YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat is more liquidy than the Diorskin Nude BB Creme).

Here is a comparison of some of my favorite foundations:
From the top to the bottom
(Shu Uemura Face Architect in 774, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B20,
Diorskin Nude BB Creme in 002 light, YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat in B30)

Sneak Peak of the week

Hey guys:
I have been on a weird trend the past month or so, which is I have been loving Dior products a lot recently. One of the reasons might be it's more accessible for me to buy and the other is, Chanel has not come out with a lot of new things that I like. =P
Here is a sneak peak of what I will be posting this week.

I will be talking to you guys very soon =D

Topbox Prive Box January 2013

I love writing reviews, but maybe ignore my bad grammar if you can?
I'm going to write my second blog of the day, Topbox Prive box January 2013, freshly received.
Here is a picture of what received in the box.
Overall impression:
I knew what I would received in this box, as some of you may know, I love reading other people's reviews. Since I figured out about what I would receive for this month's box.

1. Clarifying Lotion for Dry Combination skin [2 fl.oz.liq. / 60mL]
Description:
Formulated to help the world's impurities to create healthier, younger skin.
Impression:
When I saw it was for dry combination skin, I knew this was totally wrong. I am so disappointed with this since I do have dry skin, I don't know whether it is supposed to be like this. I also researched for this, and Clinique do offer a clarifying lotion for dry to very dry skin. So this is total piss off.

2. Rinse Off Eye Makeup Solvent [2 fl.oz.liq. / 60mL]
Description:
Make it clean sweep, from lashes to brows. Or use for on-the-spot makeup fixes. Oil-free.
Impression:
I am happy that I received this as I love to try new eye makeup remover. I am happy with this product.
Update: Just tried it tonight, didn't really work, will try it again tomorrow!!

3. Clinique color surge eye shadow duo in strawberry fudge duo [0.05oz / 1.6g]
Description:
Go-together shades of silky, easy-to-blend color in a chrome slide compact.
Impression:
I have tons of eye shadows, still, I'm glad to receive this. I probably wouldn't use it, but I will give it to a friend as a gift.

4. Clinique repairwear laser focus wrinkle & UV damage corrector [0.24 fl.oz.liq. / 7mL]
Description:
A second chance for skin against sun damage and wrinkles. At 12 weeks, the visible-wrinkle-reducing power is remarkably close to a dermatological laser procedure. 63%, to be exact.
Impression:
I got to say I am not thrilled to receive wrinkle repair as I don't really have any wrinkles. I think I'm going to pass it down to my mom.

I am not very impressed with the first ever Topbox Prive box. Hopefully next month is going to be better. sigh.

ipsy bag January 2013 Canada Version :)

Today, I received both my ipsy bag and my Topbox. I was thrilled when I opened my mailbox and both of them was there :P Here is what I have received in my ipsy bag. I received 5 things in this month's bag.
(sorry that I missed the brush)

1.  big sex hair spray & play

Impression: I don't really style my hair very often, but it is very cool to receive something that I have never tried before. I may just bring it with me while I travel. Good stuff.
2.  Josie Maran Argan Oil
Impression: I am super happy that I have received this. My hair has been in a really bad shape after all the color dyeing and blow-drying. I will start using it and hopefully it helps me with my frizz and dryness, haha.
3. nailtini in Bloody Mary

Impression: two months in a role I have been receiving red colored stuff from ipsy. I am very impressed, the color to me looks a bit deeper red, fits perfectly the description of bloody :P I will start using it when I am back in the mood of red.
4. Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter
Impression: This month's bag is almost perfect with all the stuff that I needed for this bloody winter season. I have been very dry this season, this is the perfect size for me to put in my backpack and bring it everywhere. I love it!!
5. London SOHO New York Crease Brush
Impression: I have seen Michelle Phan using this brush in one of her videos. Also I have been eyeing on it for a long time in Wal-mart. I am super happy that I received this as a gift, I think this is priced something more than $10 at Walmart. Correct me if I am wrong :D

Overall, I love this month's ipsy bag, I hope they can keep it up with all these nice quality products.

Almost sleepless night :(

After start reading one of my textbooks for wine class this year, I went on my journey to LCBO looking for a bottle of Chardonnay. Here is a photo of the night:

(Instagram it :P)
I have to say I liked it at first, but after the third glass, I was a bit bored of it, it wasn't as dry as I'd imagine it was (or what I have remembered from my previous tasting before). But, I'd still recommended to anyone who loves white wine and looking for the fruity to citrus flavor. Overall, I would still give this wine a 4.5/5. (The 0.5 was totally costed by the over-drinking of the wine :D)

Now, I can't go back to sleep, big sigh :( Still gotta work in the morning at 9 AM. Will be a painful day at work because my brain is really slow right now.

DIOR Spring 2013 Cherie Bow Palette

Today, I went to Shoppers Drug Mart and found what I have been wanting for about a month, the new Dior Spring 2013 Cherie Bow collection, here is a picture of the palette borrowed from Dior :D
This is the most adorable thing I have ever seen. It comes in a big bow shaped case. Inside of the palette,  there are different eye shadows, one eyeliners, and one lip gloss, here are some real photo shots of the palette (sorry about the lighting):

(with flashlight)
Travel size brushes are also included in this. From the left to right, soft light pink, light gray, then brownish gray. All of the three shadows are frost textured eyeshadows. There is also an almost black cream eyeliner. On the right, there is a coral-pink lip gloss.
I haven't decided yet on whether to use it or not, if you guys don't know, I am a big limited edition collector, I'm just really loving it right now. :D

xoxo
Monica
P.S. I will post more pictures when I get better lighting :)
